Below are holiday photo’s taken in Tenerife on one of Stoneacres residents and staff holidays which we try to do each year.  The staff go on a voluntary basis and only get paid their normal working shifts.  As you can well imagine giving them this service is very expensive, as many of the activities they undertake have to be covered on a one to one basis.

Stoneacres also operates a minibus to further facilitate their needs and provides other opportunities, which are not covered by the care package they receive from Local Authorities.

Each resident is sponsored by a Local Authority who pays a fee that covers the cost of the care package required for the resident. Unfortunately, over recent years through cost restraints imposed on the local authorities by central government, these fees have not been increased in line with inflation and this has put a great financial strain on Stoneacres. 

At the same time much more stringent operating requirements have been imposed by the CSCI further increasing the operating costs. These factors together with increases in the cost of insurance and transport have all threatened the financial security of Stoneacres. We constantly badger the local authorities to increase the fees and meet their obligation and have received some increase although not the full amount required.
